NAEPC Webinar: Using Financial Modeling to Communicate the Benefits of Estate Planning Techniques to Clients in an Understandable Manner

Presented by National Association of Estate Planners & Councils

Wednesday, January 22, 2025

2:00pm - 3:00pm ET

Speaker: Jerome M. Hesch, MBA, JD, AEP® (Distinguished), Brad Dillon, JD, LL.M., and Brandon Ketron, CPA, JD, LL.M.

When proposing an estate plan to a potential client, one needs to explain the proposed technique and the tax saving benefits the proposed technique can accomplish.  Today’s presentation will demonstrate how financial modeling not only illustrates the impact of the factors that shift wealth to future generations without exposure to estate and gift tax but allows the advisor to communicate these objectives in an understandable manner.  Once clients understand how a technique works, they can become involved in the design of the estate plan and decide on how much to “give away.” This is an intermediate level program.

Jerome M. Hesch, MBA, JD, is a member of Meltzer, Lippe, Goldstein & Breitstone, LLP in Boca Raton, Florida office.  He is the Director of the Notre Dame Tax and Estate Planning Institute and is a Fellow of ACTEC.  He has published articles, Tax Management Portfolios, a law school casebook on Federal Income Taxation and has spoken at CLE programs throughout the country.

Brad Dillon, J.D., LL.M. is a partner in 16z Perennial in New York City, that is focused on developing and implementing creative wealth transfer strategies that align with clients’ wishes and is an adjunct professor at Fordham Law School.  Prior to joining 16z Perennial, Brad worked at UBS and at the Milbank law firm in New York City, where he practiced in the firm’s trusts and estates department.
