Dear Colleagues,
As 2010 draws to a close and we all look forward to the coming year, I would
like to take a moment to thank you for being a member of an estate planning
council affiliated with NAEPC! With your support at the local level, our
organization grows in the number of affiliated local councils, individual
members at the local level, and Accredited Estate Planner® and Estate Planning
Law Specialist designees. I am looking very forward to being your president in
2011, and to being able to witness the continued success of the organization.
2010 was an incredible year for both NAEPC and The NAEPC Foundation. I would
like to thank Michael W. Halloran, CLU®, ChFC®, AEP®, CFP®, REBC, RHU, LUTCF,
MSFS, MSM for his service as president during the past year. We experienced so
much growth, including The NAEPC Foundation's launch of
www.EstatePlanningAnswers.org and several other key projects, and I must
commend Mike for "leading the charge!"
December 1, 2010 marked the new term for a brand new group of officers and
directors, a list of which can be found online. In addition to thanking those
that are continuing their term, I would like to personally congratulate NAEPC's
newest board members: M. Eileen Dougherty, CTFA, CFP®, AEP®, ChFC®; Charles V.
Douglas, JD, CFP®, AEP®; Christopher P. Jakyma, Esq., CTFA, AEP®; William D.

47th Annual Conference
Highlights
November 17 - 19, 2010
San Diego, California
The 47th Annual Conference kicked off on Wednesday, November 17, 2010 with
Council Leadership Day. Estate planning council leaders from across the country
attend for this day of information sharing and development. While the morning
sessions are dedicated to the NAEPC's Annual Meeting, the remainder of the day
is devoted to allowing council leaders to spend time with one another in groups
with leaders of like-size organizations. This is continually noted as a very
valuable experience.
Two full days of technical education followed. The thirteen presenters from
around the country offered valuable continuing education credit for
participants.
As always, the conference featured a robust companion and social program!
Registered companions attended activities at the Wild Animal Park, Old Town San
Diego, Balboa Park and Julian, CA. The social portion of the program offered a
welcome reception with the exhibitors and sponsors on Wednesday, November 17,
2010 and a trip to the flight line and Officers Club of Marine Corps Air Station
Miramar on Thursday, November 18, 2010.
Finally, the program closed with a rewarding volunteer experience on
Saturday, November 20, 2010. Participants assisted the Jackie Robinson Family
YMCA by shopping for and preparing 100 Thanksgiving dinner boxes for their
annual "Turkey Project". The group also invited the families to pick them up and
handled the check in process upon arrival.

this event, including a large photo gallery.
