NAEPC 2002 Conference Highlights
39th Annual Conference
Tampa, Florida
November 7th - 9th, 2002
Congratulations to our co-hosts: The Tampa Bay Estate Planning Council and the Suncoast Estate Planning Council for the outstanding job on the 39th annual NAEPC conference.
Thursday featured an exchange of ideas by the leaders of local councils from across the country. There were presentations by representatives of the Cleveland, Dallas, New Orleans, and Tampa Bay councils. Following the presentations and question and answer sessions, the floor was opened for the informal and ever popular workshops.
We also learned about the outstanding progress that has been made on the web site and about the efforts on our dual specialization designations: the Accredited Estate Planner and the Estate Planning Law Specialist.
Jack Rittenhouse made us aware of a new program designed to educate the general public on the importance of estate planning, ARA Content. In this innovative program, NAEPC supplies a series of articles that are available to newspaper and Web editors to download and use absolutely free of charge.
The Friday and Saturday educational sessions were advanced-level sessions covering a wide variety of important topics such as transfer tax reform, philanthropy, the economy, asset distribution, charitable planning, option planning and a look into the future of estate planning in general.
Friday night concluded with a dinner at the historic Columbia Restaurant where conference attendees enjoyed fine Cuban food and great conversation with other councils from around the country.
Our conference continues to grow through the outstanding and tireless effort of the host council conference committees. Again, congratulations to the Tampa Bay and Suncoast EPCs for a job more than well done!
